Mindfulness exercises

Sometimes our thoughts come so thick and fast or seem 'so real' or our feelings seem so intense that it appears we will be overwhelmed buy them. Mindfulness helps by focusing our attention on the present moment and helps us accept it without judgment.

It is not simply relaxation, though many do find it relaxing. Mindfulness is best thought of as being open to your experience, to your thoughts and feelings just as they are.

The following exercises can be listened to online or can be downloaded for free for your own personal use.

Leaves on the Stream:

The Leaves on the Stream exercise is designed to help us notice and label our thoughts and feelings with out getting carried along with them. There are two versions. The second one has a one minute gap of silence towards the end to allow you to continue the exercise on your own
